Suggestion for Trivia

I know this would probably be very difficult to code, so I completely understand if it cannot be done, but a lot of times, when playing trivia, I'll get the same question twice within fifteen minutes, which I'm sure is because the questions are selected at random, but I usually remember the answer from the last time I answered it, and it almost makes it too easy. Would it be possible to insure the same question doesn't come up twice in a certain time frame. Maybe an hour or so at least?

yeah i agree. not that it's happened to me, it would just be really useful

Perhaps it should all be different questions for that particular session (until you log out) and then it would reset itself when you next visit. If you get through all the questions, then a warning should be displayed to inform you that questions will now repeat or something like that. Also, it would be cool if there was a form where you could submit your own questions for trivia. They would then have to be approved by a CL or admin and then they would be available as a question. Perhaps this could be restricted to premiums or require a payment of points. Note that I have only really played trivia once or twice cos I kept losing points.

Hope that made sense,

Robert

I think that it would be nice if it showed you what the answer was if you got it wrong.

I don't think they should do that, because there's a possibility that you could get that question again, and then you'd know the answer. If you got it wrong without finding out the answer, you would have to try and find it. It would be more challenging that way. I do like the fact that it will show you other wrong answers others have given, however.

I totally agree with your idea, Robert, but if there was no way to repeat questions within one session, it is unlikely you'd get through all of them. You'd have to play for hours and hours on end.

But then it would just go through the database of questions in a random order until it ran out of questions. Then it would either start from where you left off or restart the question loop (but in a different order and mixing them up a bit) when you next login. And as for having new questions, refer to the second part of my first post.

I understand. The only thing I'm saying is to have some sort of record of what questions you've already answered, whether correctly or incorrectly, so you don't get the same question twice in one session.

hmm, actually knowing the right answer could be good, i've done trivia searches on google to find the right answer, and yet, when i type in the right answer it still says it's wrong when i knew it was right. odd.

Sometimes the spelling is different then the answers you find on google, or sometimes they want two word answers as one word.

Agree with posts 3 and 4. And Ashley, I've done the google thing before too, and the same thing has happened to me. What I think would be cool is to have like a multiple choice thing. Because sometimes I'll get a question and have no idea what the answer is, and refresh the page and lose my points. With multiple choice questions, you'd have a lower chance of losing points, lol.

Or maybe they should at least have a multiple choice category. It is hard sometimes to know how it wants you to write the answer. Sometimes "Answer in words", or "Answer numbers only" isn't quite enough detail.

Exactly, lol.
